I think another reason was how I held him, which caused him to stretch his head forward (effectively pressing his ears backwards). I also notice that hamsters, when running really fast, tend to press their ears down (maybe to decrease wind resistance? I call it "the sports car").
Never the less, I thank you for your concern. If you are interested, please do check out my other hamster pics/comics, and I hope that will convince you that my hamsters are well treated
Yeah, i now know. I only lift them up from the arm pits with my pink supporting their bums now. They seem very comfortable like that Always avoid the tummy, thats where the organs are! Oh and I only did that to him for a few seconds during the photo, I didn't do it anymore (he wouldn't stay still xD) thank you for your concern
It was only for a few seconds. But it is not recommended to hold a hamster by the tummy, that's where the organs are =o So now i've perfected a way of holding hammies where you lift them up by the armpits and then support their bum with your pink. They seem so comfy with it, they fall asleep
awwwwwwwww. its okies but omg i did that to my hamster accidently once because i didnt know how to hold them when i got them. nasty bite i got from that one. :S i had to let my neighbours adopt them when i moved.
Oh my god that's exactly what my hamster does to me when I hold it like that lol, and it has the same feet thingies. I don't know what they're called or what they're for, I thought there was something wrong with my hamster's -.-''
Haha of course! Never do it for more than a few seconds, nobody likes to be in that position XD I usually just plop them *paw down* on my hand in their most comfy position. They sit there for like..half an hour admiring the view. But heck, hamsters are near sighted. XD
